By Brian Gotter

We are still stuck in the rut with high pressure to our north and big storms and warmth to our south. Today will be an almost carbon copy of yesterday with some sunshine and clouds and a very slight chance of sprinkles or an isolated light rain shower as a storm system passes to our south. Illinois and Indiana will get the heavy rain for a second straight day while we get the left over clouds and cool winds off the lake. The warm front will get as close as central Illinois and temperatures are near 90 in St Louis. Even if the front made it this far north, it would just be a brief warm up for a few hours; like most of our warm ups have been this spring. It is not your imagination; it has been chilly this May and June. We are approaching the half way point and so far the average temperature in Milwaukee has been about 56 degrees, or nearly 8 degrees below normal. The average high today is 75 and Milwaukee will be in the lower 60s thanks to high pressure to our north creating a chilly NE wind. Inland areas are always warmer in the spring and they have been in the upper 60s and lower 70s, but their average temperature is about 5 degrees below normal so far this spring.
