Tuesday’s rain will be in Lower Michigan today and the mild air that has been sitting out over the Plains will be moving toward southeast Wisconsin over the next few days. Temperatures will jump into the mid-sixties on Wednesday and then close in on seventy degrees for Thursday and Friday. The warmer air will continue into the weekend with very little chance for rain through Sunday.
Mild weather in October in Milwaukee can be a real treat since this month can be rather cool and cloudy at times. The last fifteen years have been relatively mild with eight of those years coming in above average and only two considered below average, while the rest were right at average temperature for the month. The average temperature for October is 51.4 degrees while the average high temperature is 60.2 degrees and the average low temperature is around 42.6 degrees. If you think that October has been a nice weather month in recent history, you are right, especially last year.
October of 2007 was the fifth warmest on record with an average monthly temperature of 58.1 degrees. The period of October 2nd through the 9th last year which is almost identical to this new mild pattern had four days in the eighties and four in the seventies, the warmest hitting 87 degrees on the 6th.
