The weekend should be fine weather-wise with warm air on Saturday and seasonally cool air for southeast Wisconsin on Sunday. A cold front today will cool it off in the afternoon near Lake Michigan from the mid-seventies to the mid-sixties as northeast winds kick in behind the frontal passage. You may experience an isolated shower in southeast Wisconsin in the afternoon as the front rolls through the area.
We are about two-thirds through the month of September and so far this month in Milwaukee can be characterized as warm and wet. The average monthly temperature is at 65.1 degrees which is only a tenth of a degree above average, but the warmest day of the whole year occurred on the 2nd when the maximum hit 89 degrees. You may recall that there were no nineties this summer in Milwaukee and the warmest temperature recorded for June through August was only 88 degrees.
Rainfall is another story, as the brown lawns of southeast Wisconsin turned amazingly green after Labor Day due to ample moisture from hurricanes Gustav and Ike. On the 4th we received nearly two inches of rain from the remnants of Gustav and last weekend we picked up another nearly two inches of rain from the leftovers of Hurricane Ike. This month is already above average with 4.04 inches of rainfall.
