It was one week ago today that we were dealing with our coldest weather of the season. We had scattered frost last Friday morning and a widespread frost on Saturday. Last Friday night I wore a hat, gloves and big jacket when I went to the
Pewaukee
High School
homecoming football game. Those who took their kids to early morning soccer games last Saturday needed extra coffee and blankets on the sidelines to stay comfortable. And the first 2 Brewers playoff games in Milwaukee in 26 years had to be played with the
Miller
Park
roof closed due to the cool weather.
This weekend will be a lot different.
Warm temperatures are expected through the weekend with highs away from
Lake Michigan
in the 70s. That’s not record territory, as our record highs are in the 80s, but we will be about 10 to 15 degrees above normal. That means it will be pretty comfortable on the bleachers at high school football games tonight. It will also be more tolerable on the soccer sidelines tomorrow morning (although you’ll probably still need the coffee). And if the Brewers had won their series against the Phillies, they would have played the Dodgers in
Miller
Park
on Sunday. The weather for that game would have been…actually, let’s not even go there.
