It could be rather frosty tomorrow morning. Outside of the city of Milwaukee, and away from Lake Michigan , temperatures may fall into the low to mid 30s by early Saturday morning. That would likely lead to the first frost of the season. The buildings and concrete in the city, along with the Lake Michigan ’s water, keeps nearby locations from getting as cold as inland locations.

On average, areas outside of the city and away from the Lake typically have there first frost between October 4^th and 10^th. City and lakeshore areas don’t usually have a visit to 32 degrees until between October 18^th and 24^th. The earliest date on record that Milwaukee had a temperature at or below 32 degrees was September 20^th, when we had a record of 30 degrees.

Indications are that this will be only a brief encounter with readings near freezing. It looks like low temperatures on Saturday Night may not drop below 40. Some nights early next week may not drop below 50. Flirting with frost for only a night or two, and then returning to warmer readings is typical for this time of the year. The average low is currently in the mid 40s, so it will be some time before we can expect frost to be a regular occurrence.
