MILWAUKEE – Almost as soon as the clock struck noon, the gates at Summerfest opened up and so did the skies.
Dark clouds, thunder and heavy rain blanketed the area right away.
Visitors and vendors tried to take cover.
TODAY’S TMJ4 caught up with some U.S. Marines cleaning up afterwards.
“The people at Summerfest have been real helpful with us. Every day they’re bringing in fresh mulch to absorb some of the water and mud. Once the weather stops, pop everything back up and kinda keep rolling,” Sgt. Roman Yurek said.
Those Marines say the special summer gear they are wearing actually helps repel water.
