MILWAUKEE - Summerfest may be 41 years old this year, but there's always something new to see...and eat! TODAY’S TMJ4 got a little taste of the old AND the new on opening day Thursday. Summerfest has some new flavors this year...and we're not talking music! "If this were more than one stick, I'd be much better,” Rob Verger said, as he enjoyed some Summerfest food. Sabor and BW3's are both new to the Big Gig. "We just bought this grill from Brazil for this event, o we hope to get a lot of use out of it,” Owner Greg Meyers said. Bernie Wickert has been at Summerfest every year since the beginning. He's seen a lot of changes through the years. "My first year beers were 50 cents, hamburgers $1,” Wickert said. But some things never change... "We didn't quite have all of this, but the entertainment was all over the place,” Wickert said. And this year...we all need a little distraction. "It’s been a tough winter and spring. Summerfest is finally here...just in time,” John Boler, Summerfest’s VP of Sales and Marketing said.
