Thursday: Harley Day At Summerfest
Katie DeLong
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee is the home of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and there was no shortage of them Thursday at the Big Gig.
Thursday was Hog Day at Summerfest.
There’s nothing like the rumble of a Harley, and for hog fans, there’s nothing like taking the bike down by the lake for a trip to Summerfest.
“It was a nice, beautiful day, day before the Fourth, thought we’d start vacation a little early and we’re ready to go,” John Ustruck said.
Riding is just as fun for gals as it is for the guys.
“I used to ride in the back of the bike, but guys drive crazy. Girls are much more sensible and so I always wanted to be in the driver’s seat,” Lenore Ceizyk said.
“Once the kids started getting older, we could start enjoying this. Don’t have to answer to anyone but ourselves,” Nancy Ustruck said.
Hog fans get down to the fest early so they have time to check out the other bikes.
“It’s a process. They evolve. I got a 28-year-old bike and it’s evolving. By the time it’s 50-60 years old, it should be just right, and we’re only 29 years old with 31 years of experience. I may not be just right, but it will be just right,” Michael Winter said.
