MILWAUKEE - The opening ceremony for Summerfest is now underway at the new Harley-Davidson Roadhouse Stage.

Most people bounce from stage to stage to check out the different acts, but TODAY’S TMJ4’s Tom Murray met two ladies that were waiting all day Thursday to see one special singer.

They came early…

“Probably 9:00 in the morning,” Jennifer Rogers said.

Armed with magazines…

“We’re going to see LeAnn Rimes,” Jennifer said.

Mother Kathy Ludwig and daughter Jennifer Rogers are ready to wait… for a long time.

TODAY’S TMJ4’s Tom Murray: “So what time is Leann on stage?”

“9:00 tonight,” Kathy said.

Tom Murray: “So you guys got here at 9:00 in the morning for a show at 9:00 tonight?”

“Yep, yep,” Kathy said.

After three hours outside the gate… Jennifer and Kathy set up camp for nine more hours inside.

Tom Murray: “When you guys need to go the bathroom…when you need food…”

“We take turns,” Jennifer said.

And they’re willing to sit through a day’s worth of bands.

Tom Murray: “Do you care about any of these bands?”

Kathy ludwig/first in line:

“No,” Kathy said.

Bands they don’t even really like.

“I like country more and they’re more rock,” Jennifer said.

But Jennifer and Kathy say it’s all worth it.

“This is why we came,” Jennifer and Kathy said.

The LeAnn Rimes concert is at 9:00 Thursday night at the Miller Oasis Stage.
