Brewers' Torres Retires

Milwaukee Brewers closer Salomon Torres has announced his retirement. 

"While I still have great passion and energy for the game of baseball, I feel that the time has come to redirect that passion and energy to my family and God," he explaine in a news release.

Torres, 36, spent one season with the Brewers, going 7-5 with a 3.49 ERA and a career-high 28 saves in 71 appearances. 

In 12 Major League seasons with the Giants, Mariners, Expos, and Pirates, Torres had a career record of 44-58 with a 4.31 ERA and 57 saves.
