BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Macie Michelson and Stacie Oistad scored 11 points each to lead South Dakota State to a 64-44 women's basketball victory over Wisconsin, spoiling the Badgers' season opener Monday night.

The Badgers were held to 34 percent shooting for the game. Alyssa Karel with 11 points was the only Wisconsin player in double figures.

South Dakota State (2-0) took a 42-26 halftime lead after making 72.7 percent from the field, including 6 of 7 from 3-point range, in the first half. The percentage slipped to 20 percent in the second half to make it 44.7 percent for the game.
