STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) -- Jack Archie and Sam Beres each drove in three runs as Marquette University High School defeated West Salem 10-0 after 4 1/2 innings Wednesday.

The game was a quarterfinal matchup at the WIAA Summer Baseball Tournament in Stevens Point.

The Hilltoppers (20-20) advance to a semifinal game against Franklin (25-13) on Thursday morning.

Marquette benefited from four straight walks and Beres' two-run single to knock West Salem (28-2) starting pitcher Dan Schneider out of the game.

It was Schneider's first loss in eight decisions.

Colin Weyer allowed one hit and struck out five over four innings for the win.

West Salem had only two baserunners, and both were thrown out stealing on the same play in the first inning.
