Kenosha St. Joe's in WIAA Baseball Final

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (AP) -- Freshman Anthony Olson threw a three-hitter and struck out five as Kenosha St. Joseph beat Elk Mound 5-2 in the first WIAA Division 3 semifinal Wednesday.

St. Joseph (18-9) lost a regional final to Racine St. Catherine's, but advanced via forfeit after the winners self-reported using an ineligible player.

St. Joseph, the 2006 state champion, will play Marathon or La Crosse Aquinas in Thursday's final.

Joe Pignotti had three hits and an RBI triple for the Lancers, and Luke Olson and Joe Pillizzi each added two hits.

Elk Mound (20-5) scored its runs on RBI singles by pitchers Dan Hayden and Garrick Day.
