Brewers All-Star Braun misses second straight game
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- All-Star left fielder Ryan Braun of the Brewers missed his second consecutive game Monday with a ribcage muscle injury.
Braun, the NL player of the month in July, injured himself while swinging in the first inning of Milwaukee's 6-0 win over Washington on Saturday night. He sat out Sunday and wasn't in the lineup for Monday's finale of a four-game series.
Brewers manager Ned Yost indicated the injury wasn't serious enough to warrant putting Braun on the 15-day disabled list.
Braun is batting .300 with a team-high 30 home runs and 84 RBIs in 114 games.
