A former Milwaukee Brewers manager who didn't bring the Chicago Cubs out of their century of discontent has landed a new job.
The Kansas City Royals tweeted this Thursday:
The #Royals have added Dale Sveum to the coaching staff for 2014. Sveum managed the Cubs for the last two seasons.— Kansas City Royals (@Royals) October 3, 2013
Sveum managed the final 12 games of the 2008 regular season as the team made its first playoff appearance in 26 years that year, but the Brewers chose Ken Macha as its permanent manager instead.
The man whose firing led to Sveum's temporary management stint, Ned Yost, brought on Sveum. He just signed a two-year contract extension.
