Brewers Players Receive Awards

MILWAUKEE - All-star first baseman Prince Fielder is the Milwaukee Brewers Most Valuable Player by unanimous vote. The club announced their postseason award winners today voted on by members of the Milwaukee chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Fielder batted .288 with 50 home runs and 119 RBI in 158 games. All-Star closer Francisco Cordero was unanimously voted Brewers Most Valuable Pitcher, winning the honor for the second straight season. Cordero established a franchise record with 44 saves. Third baseman Ryan Braun is the Brewers Top Newcomer. The National League Rookie of the Year candidate batted .324 with 34 home runs, 97 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 113 games. Outfielder Corey Hart is the Brewers Unsung Hero and recipient of the Good Guy Award.
