(AP) -- Harvard forward Sarah Vaillancourt has a chance to become a two-time winner of the Patty Kazmaier Award presented to the top female player in NCAA Division I hockey. Vaillancourt, Mercyhurst forward Meghan Agosta and Wisconsin goaltender Jesse Vetter were chosen as finalists Tuesday, with the winner to be announced March 21 at the women's Frozen Four at Boston University. Vaillancourt, Harvard's co-captain from Sherbrooke, Quebec, ranks fourth in the nation with 1.93 points per game and has 25 goals and 27 assists. Agosta, Mercyhurst's captain from Ruthven, Ontario, was nominated a third straight year. The junior leads the nation in points per game (2.59), goals per game (1.31) and assists per game (1.28). She finished the season with 38 goals and 37 assists in 29 games. Vetter, a member of the U.S. national team, was 30-2-5 with a goals-against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .936.
