WIAA Baseball: Franklin 2, Homestead 1STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) -- Franklin pitcher Brandon Wiedenfeld tossed a four-hitter and struck out three over seven innings to lead the Sabers to a 2-1 victory over Mequon Homestead on Wednesday. The game was part of quarterfinal action at the 45th annual WIAA Summer Baseball Tournament in Stevens Point. Franklin (25-13) advances to a semifinal game against Marquette University H.S. (20-20) on Thursday morning. Casey Barnes hit a solo home run to give Homestead (21-16) a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Franklin tied the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ryan Dalton snapped the tie with a two-out run-scoring single in the sixth inning. He finished 3-for-3. Barnes was the losing pitcher.
