Barry Alvarez Alvarez Reorganizes UW AthleticsMADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Athletics Director Barry Alvarez is giving several aides new responsibilities in anticipation of the departure of a top assistant. Senior associate athletic director Vince Sweeney has been named UW-Madison's vice chancellor for university relations. The position was created by Chancellor Biddy Martin to improve the school's communications. Sweeney starts next month. Alvarez says five different aides will take on new duties under a reorganization plan. Justin Doherty will become assistant athletic director for external relations and oversee athletic communications, marketing, the ticket office and video and Web services.
