Whether you're listening to the radio, watching television, or reading the sports section, it's pretty easy in Wisconsin to find news about the Green Bay Packers.

But officials are making it even easier for fans to follow the team.

"Fans are using new social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to be able to stay connected to things they care about," says Laura Sankey, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales with the Packers. “There’s an immediacy and there’s also a brevity of it."

That's why the team has created a Facebook page and a Twitter account, both of which will send breaking news directly to fans and provide links to certain articles on Packers.com.

"You'll see a lot of things that you would see on packers.com, it's just a very simple way to post it," says Sankey.

"It's almost like an index of things that you care about, so if you're following something you can see just the headline of what's going on and then be able to click deeper to find more information."

Sankey does suggest that fans still frequent Packers.com if they are looking to read full, extensive articles about the team.

But with these new social networking tools, fans can be sure to be packed with the latest Packer knowledge come game day.
