Today, a new monument will be unveiled outside Miller Park.

It will sit on the plaza in front of the Miller Park home plate gate.

The monument will honor the 1901 Milwaukee Brewers, one of the original members of the American League which was formed in Milwaukee at the turn of the century at a hotel called the Republican House.

That team used to play at Lloyd Street Grounds, which was on the corner of North 16th and West Lloyd Streets.

The original Brewers moved to St. Louis and became the Browns, then eventually relocated in Baltimore and became the current Orioles.

The monument will be unveiled at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, six hours before tonight's Brewers-Twins game.
