Riske To Have Elbow SurgeryMILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers reliever David Riske is scheduled to have elbow surgery on Tuesday after an examination by Dr. Lewis Yocum. A team spokesman says it won't be known until Yocum starts surgery if the right-hander will need a full reconstructive procedure that would sideline him for up to a year. Riske was expected to be a key player and potential closer when he signed a $13 million, three-year deal with the Brewers before the 2008 season. But he's struggled to stay healthy. In his first season, he went 1-2 with a 5.31 ERA in 45 appearances before needing September surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. The nine-year veteran did not have a strong spring training and made just one appearance this season, giving up two runs before going on the disabled list on April 16 with a tight elbow.
