I'm sitting here in our Packers Radio Network studios, and I'm looking here at the call screen listings, and I'm seeing a bunch of people complaining about the fact that Brett Favre would have given the Packers the win in this game against the Bears.

Folks, if you read the game blog, is there one major fault you can find in this game?

The pick he threw came off a tipped pass. Those happen. That's not his fault.

He missed two passes on the second drive of the game, one a potential INT that was barely missed, the other a bomb that missed an open Donald Driver.

He made three other mistakes, minor mistakes that truly didn't cost the Packers anything.

Compare that to the performance of Brett Favre this week.

Hmm...I see two touchdown passes in wintery conditions to Favre's none in wintery Seattle, whose defense is nowhere near as accomplished as Chicago's.

I see one not-his-fault interception for Rodgers compared to two Seahawks picks.

I see Favre's 48.7 QB rating against Seattle vs. Rodgers' 87.6. Nearly double for the guy that fans are complaining isn't Brett Favre.

Hang on, you say, Rodgers didn't get it done again in the late stretch.

Of course not. Because you might blame him for not blocking the Chicago kick-block team that plundered through the middle of the porous Packers protection and block the kick.

Or you could blame him for not reminding Aaron Rouse to avoid horse-collaring Matt Forte on an overtime run.

So he needs to become a special teams member and the defensive coordinator, too, to be what Brett Favre was?

Rodgers did his job. He delivered enough throws to get the team into field goal range to win the game.

You might argue, "Favre would have gotten them to the end zone!"

Maybe not.

In exactly half of Favre's 40 comebacks with the Packers, his efforts set up game-winning field goals, not trips to the end zone.

Plus, look at recent history:

In the last four games, Favre's best rating was 61.4.

Rodgers' worst was Monday night: 87.6.

I'm not seeing the big Aaron Rodgers blame in this one.

He led the team to the comeback store.

His field goal team and defense failed to deliver the goods.

Might Favre have pulled another legendary comeback on Monday night that Rodgers didn't?  Possibly.  I'll give you that, especially considering his history.

But still, Aaron Rodgers deserves no blame for this game, and those who choose to destroy him for undeserved criticism this week had better redirect it.
