Next game: Sunday, December 7th vs. Houston
Packers Gameday at 9:00 a.m. on Newsradio 620 WTMJ, a live blog here and coverage on Live at 5 and 10 on TODAY'S TMJ4
It's December.
The time when the Packers show up more than any other and dominate.
In Mike McCarthy's tenure, the Packers are 7-2 in Santa Claus territory on the calendar.
The problem for Green Bay?
They've been like Santa and his elves on defense.
That unit has given up 43 points per contest the last two weeks.
Houston now comes into town for the first of, realistically, four must-win games.
Will Green Bay win the first of the four?
"Our Experts" give their thoughts.

Block Mario Williams and burn Houston's DB's. The Texans were ridiculed for taking Mario Williams first overall, ahead of Reggie Bush and Vince Young in 2006. Don't laugh anymore. This guy is a beast, plays both end positions and needs to be accounted for. Also, the Packers should expose the Houston secondary, and if the Packers can punch early and often, they should knock this dome team out.

Don't let Andre Johnson burn you. Johnson is the best receiver that never gets any pub. Great hands, great speed, good route runner, breaks tackles and he's physical. Rookie Steve Slaton might be small, but he's starting to make his mark. And if the Packers can't rush and sack Matt Schaub coming off a knee injury, they'll never get to any QB from here on out.

Green Bay 30, Houston 20. Houston's getting better, but something tells me they don't want any part of the cold.

Maintain excellence. Offense hasn't been the problem lately, so keep on doin' what you're doin' and the scoreboard will light up. Keep Mario Williams away from Aaron Rodgers
|
Stuff Houston's young weapons. The Texans have arguably the best young talent in the league. Find a way to tackle rookie running back Steve Slaton, who is making everyone in Houston forget about passing on Reggie Bush.
|
Green Bay 34, Houston 23. Just win, baby! (Oh wait, that's Oakland's mantra, and they haven't won in forever.)

Do your thing, then get Grant involved. If Green Bay performs early on the way it can, gets the passing game going early and builds a big lead, it would behoove the Packers to pound Ryant Grant, pound Ryan Grant, pound Ryan Grant upon Houston's defense, especially in the second half, to start him working up a December lather in the critical games to come.

DB's, show up against a great receiver for once! Let's see....Steve Smith last week, Marquis Colston, Lance Moore, Roddy White, Charles Johnson, Plaxico Burress, Terrell Owens...each of them have put burn marks on the Packers' pro bowl corners and their fellow DB's. (The only exception to being prone to wide receiver burns, seemingly, has been Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne this year.) The scary thing is, Andre Johnson could be better than any of them.
|
Green Bay 38, Houston 24 Don't forget the fact the Packers offense has averaged 32 points per game the last three contests. Expect more Sunday.

Ground it. The basic rule to win a cold weather game is running the football. Plus, it is probably the best way to neutralize Mario Williams.
|
Limit the big play. Andre Johnson is a step below Steve Smith, but he is still lethal. Limit his big plays at all costs.
|
Green Bay 24, Houston 14. The Packers almost pulled off a win in an almost must-win situation last Sunday. This week will not be an "almost" in a for-sure must-win game.
