GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Packers coaches are hinting that Brandon Jackson may see more playing time at running back this week.

Jackson replaced Ryan Grant during Sunday's loss to Carolina when the starter sprained his right thumb. Jackson responded with 80 yards on 11 carries.

Running backs coach Edgar Bennett says he always felt like the team had two good backs. He says Jackson made the most of his opportunities.

Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin says Jackson could get extended playing time Sunday against Houston. Grant's status is uncertain, though he might be able to play with a splint on his thumb.

Coach Mike McCarthy says he'll watch how Grant progresses this week, saying he's still the starter. But he adds that he has no qualms about playing Jackson in all situations.
