Packers' Jolly Faces Trial on Drug Charge

HOUSTON (AP) -- Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly Jr. faces a trial in March on a felony drug-possession charge.

Jolly appeared in a pretrial motion hearing Tuesday in Houston. He had the option of entering a plea or reaching a plea agreement, but it appears he and his attorney intend to take the case to trial.

George Flynn is a spokesman for Houston's district attorney. He says the judge set a tentative trial date of March 27.

Jolly was arrested this summer in Houston for alleged possession of at least 200 grams of the painkiller codeine, a second-degree felony.
