Packers Center Scott Wells Expected to Play Sunday
By Jon Byman
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Less than a week after he suffered a serious concussion, Green Bay Packers center Scott Wells was practicing and expected to rejoin the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says Wells took all of the snaps, looked fine and would start if "everything checks out."
The Packers listed Wells as probable for the game on Friday's injury report.
Wells suffered the head injury in the second quarter of the Packers' 35-31 loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
He remained in the game for a few plays but was taken out after a premature shotgun snap went over quarterback Aaron Rodgers' head and resulted in a fumble deep in Green Bay territory. The Panthers recovered and scored a touchdown.
