Favre "Sticking It to Ted"; Now, McCarthy Sticks Up for Thompson

By By Jay Sorgi

Last week, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre said that he unretired from the Green Bay Packers and demanded his release from the team so he could be "sticking it to Ted," meaning Packers general manager Ted Thompson.

Thompson's chief employee, Packers coach Mike McCarthy, decided to stick up for Ted when asked about the subject at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

"I'll say what I've said all along in addressing Ted Thompson: Ted Thompson is the finest individual that I've ever had the opportunity to work with in this business," said McCarthy to the Journal Sentinel.

"He's up front, he's honest, he's truthful, he brings his lunchbox to work every day, and every decision he makes is in the best interest of the Green Bay Packers."
