Sat. Final: Brewers 5, Angels 3PHOENIX (AP) -- Leave it to a player named Brewer to give the Milwaukee Brewers a win. Brent Brewer hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday, helping Milwaukee beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Saturday. Milwaukee manager Ken Macha (MAW'-kuh) says the minor-league shortstop had his game face on as he circled the bases. Macha had to tell Brewer it's OK to smile. Angels starter Shane Loux scattered three hits over two innings. He had one strikeout and picked off a runner at first. Milwaukee's Braden Looper was scratched from the start after feeling tightness in an oblique muscle while warming up. Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun went 1-for-3 with one RBI. The Angels' Chris Pettit was 2-for-3 with a run scored, one RBI and two stolen bases. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
