Brewers Spring Training Games Begin
Next game: Wednesday, Feb. 25 vs. Oakland
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers open their spring training slate on Wednesday against manager Ken Macha's old team, the Oakland A's.
Macha was fired as A's skipper after the 2006 season and has spent the last two years as an analyst.
He took over the Brewers this offseason after the organization decided not to keep interim manager Dale Sveum (SWAYM') in the role after letting Ned Yost go with 12 games left.
Sveum is now the hitting coach of the Brewers, last year's NL wild card winner.
Jeff Suppan takes the mound to open Milwaukee's exhibition season. They'll meet an opponent they know well on Thursday when they travel to Mesa, Ariz., to play the Chicago Cubs.
