Sun. Final: UW Women 54, Michigan State 51MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jade Davis made two key free throws with 24 seconds left to give Wisconsin a 54-51 win in the Badgers' home season finale Sunday. Four Badgers finished in double figures including a career-high 11 points for Davis. Alyssa Karel led them with 12 points while Lin Zastrow and Tara Steinbauer each added 11 for Wisconsin (16-12, 6-11 Big Ten). Wisconsin went 19-of-53 from the field, finishing at 35.8 percent. Lykendra Johnson led Michigan State (19-8, 12-4) with 12 points while Allyssa DeHaan and Kalisha Keane added 11 each. The Spartans finished 9-of-52 for 36.5 percent from the field. Johnson scored five straight points for the Spartans, including a 3-point play, to pull them within one (50-49) with 2:28 left. Two Steinbauer free throws gave the Badgers a 3-point lead again but Kalisha Keane hit two more from the charity stripe to pull Michigan within one point a final time with 2:09 remaining. The Spartans, however, were unable to score again. Michigan State grabbed four offensive boards on its final possession but missed all four shot attempts. The Spartans won the battle on the boards, outrebounding Wisconsin 37-30. The Spartans had 32 points in the paint compared with 22 for Wisconsin, which had an 18-13 advantage though on second-chance points. The Badgers had a large crowd on their side as 14,657 fans packed the Kohl Center. That audience ranked seventh all time on Wisconsin's list. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
