Donald Driver's Dad Being Sued
By By Diane Znamierowski, Associated Press
Three Houston police officers are suing Donald Driver's father.
The department accused Martin Driver of making false statements about an arrest in November.
Marvin Driver says the officers beat him after a traffic stop in Houston.
A police investigation disputes those claims.
Marvin Driver said he did not lie about the incident.
Because he signed a sworn affidavit, the charges he could face in a criminal court include perjury, a misdemeanor punishable by a year in jail, or filing a false report to a peace officer, a misdemeanor with a maximum jail term of six months.
