The department accused Martin Driver of making false statements about an arrest in November. Marvin Driver says the officers beat him after a traffic stop in Houston. A police investigation disputes those claims. Marvin Driver said he did not lie about the incident. Because he signed a sworn affidavit, the charges he could face in a criminal court include perjury, a misdemeanor punishable by a year in jail, or filing a false report to a peace officer, a misdemeanor with a maximum jail term of six months. |
