Jim Powell | Photo Milwaukee Brewers Brewers Broadcaster Powell Takes Lead Job With BravesBy Jon BymanSome happy and sad news for us here at Newsradio 620 WTMJ this afternoon. We're happy to announce that Brewers Play-By-Play announcer Jim Powell has taken a job as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves. Georgia is Jim's home and the move will allow him to be closer to his family. Of course the news is also sad in that we'll be losing a valued member of our staff. Jim joined the broadcast team in 1996. Powell began his Major League broadcasting career with the Minnesota Twins in a reserve role in 1993 and 1994. We wish Jim and his family the best in this new chapter in their lives. |
