Brewers, McClung Sign Deal

By By Jay Sorgi

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed one of their four players who were eligible for arbitration entering Tuesday morning.

In a release, the team says it has signed pitcher Seth McClung to a one-year deal.  The Brewers did not disclose the terms of the contract.

McClung went 6-6 with a 4.02 ERA in more than 105 innings pitched in 2008.

He is thought of as a possible candidate for a role as a starter for the 2008 season.

First baseman Prince Fielder, outfielder Corey Hart and second baseman Rickie Weeks still have not agreed to a contract with the Brewers and may go to arbitration for their salary for the 2009 campaign.
