Brewers Surpass 1 Million Tickets Sold

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Brewers reached 1 million tickets sold for the 2009 season on Monday, besting last year's pace by a full two weeks.

It's the earliest date in team history that the organization has sold 1 million tickets.

The Brewers set an all-time franchise attendance mark of over 3 million fans in 2008, but didn't sell a million tickets until Feb. 2 last offseason.

It's the ninth time overall and fifth year in a row that the Brewers have sold at least a million tickets before the home opener.

Milwaukee went 90-72 last season and reached the postseason for the first time since 1982, losing in four games in the NLDS to Philadelphia, which went on to win the World Series.
