Jake's Journal: Dwyane Wade

By Katie DeLong

Former Marquette star Dwayne Wade's appearing in his second Olympics, and this time he's hoping to help the Redeem Team win Olympic gold. Wade has got it all: a Final Four appearance in college and an NBA championship. But the taste of coming up short in Athens with the bronze still lingers. “The memories of ‘04 are something you don't want to keep, because we were the first team to not do it,” Wade said. They get another chance this time around. Team USA is locked and loaded and ready to roll in Beijing. “You get to put egos aside and do it for the USA. We're not doing it for the name on the back of the jersey, we're doing it for the name on the front of the jersey,” Wade said. The pressure to impress will be as high as they come. They need to bring home the gold. The US crushed Angola Tuesday morning. The Americans are now 2 and 0. They play Greece on Thursday.
