Doyle: Still Time To Decide on Re-Election
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Jim Doyle says even though he's raising money for a re-election campaign for a third term, there's still time for him to decide not to run.
Doyle said Tuesday that he is doing everything he needs to do to mount a re-election bid. He says anyone who is looking at what he's doing can draw their own conclusion about his intentions.
Doyle has a campaign finance director on staff who has been raising money. The governor had more than $1 million on hand through the end of June.
His wife, Jessica Doyle, says it's difficult to make a quick decision on a third term because there is still so much left for her husband to do as governor. She says the next few months will be "revealing" about whether he can accomplish what he wants to this year.
