Raw Video: Emergency Operations Center Opens
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has opened up the city's emergency operations center to try and attempt to deal with all the issues that have slowed down the city because of the storm.
"Parts of the city have had over seven and a half inches of rain in less than two-and-a-half hours," said Mayor Tom Barrett.
"To put that in perspective, MMSD service area is 420 square miles. If you have one inch of rain, that would account for 721 billion gallons of water, so you can imagine with 7 1/2 inches of rain."
Mayor Barrett gave a suggestion:
"Stay home this evening. We have another line of storms coming through. Stay home this evening unless you have a reason that you have to be on the road."
