President Stops at Local Danish Shop

  • Print

RACINE - Before addressing a standing room-only crowd at Memorial Hall in Racine, President Obama stopped at O & H Bakery and bought some danishes!

"It was very exciting and an incredible experience," said O & H manager Becky Jackson.  "He was very gracious, friendly, and down-to-earth."

The President sampled a pecan danish and then told Jackson that he had to buy one, asking her what else she would reccommend.

"I told him cherry was our best seller, and that he had to try a cheese danish because he's in Wisconsin!" she laughed.

President Obama bought all three, joking to the cashiers that they "took all [his] change," and then departed for his speech.

"He said he would bring them home for Michelle and the girls," Jackson noted.
