Car Insurance Law Starts Today

  • Print

MILWAUKEE - Starting today, people driving a car in Wisconsin have to have auto insurance and proof of it in their car, or they'll be breaking the law.

Still, a good chunk of people in the state - about 15% - don't have it.

Andy Franken is the President of the Wisconsin Insurance Alliance.  He told the Journal Sentinel that there will always be a percentage of people who don't have auto insurance, and when the economy worsens, more people will choose not to have it.
