Woman Fears for Her Life because of Stalker
WEST ALLIS - Domestic abuse victim Carla Winters of West Allis made national headlines in 1992, even appearing on the Maury Povich Show to talk about what happened to her. She said her ex-boyfriend, Gregory Bottoni, beat and stalked her after she broke up with him.
"He threatened to kill my mother. He threatened to kill me. He threatened to hurt my son," Winters said.
Winters got a body guard and filed a restraining order back in 1992. It kept him away for years. But now, she said he's back; this time sending his threats on-line.
"In this one he writes, 'I'm a killer and I will kill again,'" she read off her computer screen.
Bottoni is a convicted murderer, who served his sentence in Arizona. His family said he suffers from mental illness, and believes he remains in Arizona. But they aren't sure.
"He could be anywhere. He could already be here for all I know," Winters said.
Winters filed a report with the West Allis Police Department. She said she did that just to make sure they have a record of it.
"He hasn't really broken any laws according to them," she explained. "So until he does something, I just have to wait. I won't lie. I'm scared."
If you have any information on Gregory Bottoni's whereabouts, call West Allis Police. Winters wants to know where he is so she can file another restraining order.
