Bob Uecker Undergoes Successful Heart Surgery
WAUWATOSA - Brewers announcer Bob Uecker is resting at Froedtert Hospital after undergoing a 6-hour heart procedure Friday.
Doctors replaced Uecker's aortic valve, aortic root and part of his ascending aorta. They also performed a coronary bypass.
"Our family is thrilled with the outcome of today's surgery," said Bob Uecker, Jr. "We're grateful to the staff at Froedtert for their medical and professional care; they have been terrific every step of the way."
Uecker's son also thanked extended family, friends and Brewers fans who expressed their concern.
Uecker is expected to remain in the hospital for 5 to 7 days, and be fully recovered in 10-12 weeks.
