State Changes to Heathcare Follow Reform
MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin residents who get their health insurance now through BadgerCare Plus will slowly see their insurance coverage transition to commercial plans under the new national health care plan.
"National reform will help cover more uninsured people in Wisconsin. It will reduce cost for individuals and small businesses," says Doyle.
Governor Doyle says Wisconsin is well ahead of other states when it comes to covering the uninsured. BadgerCare Plus covers thousands of low income adults. To help those people understand the new federal law the Governor is creating a Health Care Reform Office.
"I am directing the office to come up with a plan that uses national reform that builds on our successes and our existing programs and insures Wisconsin residents and businesses will realize the benefits of reform as soon as possible."
Doyle wants it to be a one-stop shopping office.
"It will provide a single point of access to all eligible residents and businesses to be able to chose their insurance," adds Doyle.
