2010 Fight for Air Climb
MILWAUKEE- Step-by-step, 1,100 climbers raced to the top of the U.S. Bank building in downtown Milwaukee on Saturday. It was the 2010 Fight for Air Climb that benefits the American Lung Association.
The climbers included several area firefighters who raced to the top while wearing all of their gear. "You get a little shortness of breath, and you have a little empathy for those who can't breathe," said Steve Peterson of the West Allis Fire Department.
The climb was 47 floors or 1,034 steps. Many climbers said it was tougher than they thought it would be, but they were glad they did it.
