Man Recovering from Legionnaires: "Not Pleasant"

  • Print

MEQUON - A man from Mequon says he's still recovering from Legionnaires' disease after contracting it last August.

"It's not pleasant, that's for sure," said Daniel Dylak. He had a heart procedure in August.

Days later, he was running a fever of 104, and it went downhill from there.

He spent 13 days in the hospital, and he says his wife was terrified.

"I can't tell you how many meds I was on, because I remember just bits and pieces of it," explained Daniel.

"It's a terrible feeling. I feel like I lost a week of my life, because I don't remember what was going on."

Dylak's advice to anyone else who gets Legionnaires' Disease?

"Get in, and get (it) checked out."
