Local NewsGirl Allegedly Stalked by UWM Assault SuspectBy Elizabeth Braun, Charles BensonMILWAUKEE - Joel Hoffman, 31, of Oak Creek, is accused of assaulting two women and stalking a 14-year-old girl. Now that girl is speaking out. "He approached me three times. They were awful times," says the alleged victim. The 14-year-old girl talked about the man who terrorized her life last September. "He was yelling at me, 'Get in the car. Get in the car,' several times. Me, being the age I am, I was shocked. I was really scared. I was panicking. I didn't know what do." Prosecutors have now charged Joel Hoffman with stalking the south side eighth grader. But when she reported the incidents to police last year, she says the case was closed because of lack of evidence. The 14-year-old is upset with police and prosecutors for not doing enough to stop Hoffman. Nearly one year ago he was arrested for assaulting a 16-year-old. "I'm glad they captured him now and are serious about this case, but what they should have done is done this since the first victim." Now that Hoffman is charged with sexually assaulting the 16-year-old and the UWM student, the 14-year-old wants to make sure he's doesn't get out again.
