Bill Would Toughen Miller Park Scalping Rules
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A bill that would make it easier for the Milwaukee Brewers to prosecute unauthorized ticket scalpers is moving through the Legislature.
Team officials say scalpers are using aggressive tactics to hawk tickets, which hurts their attempt to provide a fan-friendly experience.
The Brewers and city of Milwaukee have designated an area outside the stadium as the only location to buy and sell tickets. Anyone selling outside that zone is warned, and can eventually be cited for trespassing and kicked off the grounds.
The Brewers have had problems enforcing the zone because of ambiguity in state law. The plan up for a vote in the Senate on Tuesday and the Assembly Thursday would make it clear such zones could be enforced outside event venues, and violators could be removed and face fines.
