Burlington Worker Rescued in Grain Bin
BURLINGTON - An employee of Cooperative Plus, which is located on the 600 block of South Kane Street, has been rescued from a grain bin containing soybeans and taken to a hospital
Phil Adsit fell in sometime around 12:30 p.m. At that time he was said to be in up to his chest.
He appears to be fine, and he waved while getting into an ambulance.
Crews had been gradually removing the beans in hopes to rescuing the worker. As of 4:00 p.m. he was said to be trapped up to his waist.
Adsit is in his mid-60's and has worked at Cooperative Plus for several years. He's not hurt and will likely be able to return to work Wednesday.
