Milwaukee Fire crews had to evacuate 60 people from the Word Is God Worship Center near 33rd and Vliet on Tuesday night because of high carbon monoxide levels. The next day, city inspectors found a homeless person living in the basement. The Journal Sentinel says the church needs to have a special use permit to allow it to house homeless people. Pastor Lamar Beverly-Davis didn't have that permit, so he has to stop doing the thing his church has done for many years. |
