Mequon Native Loves Playing Summerfest
Heather Shannon
MILWAUKEE - Willy Porter is a Mequon native who has performed at Summerfest 15 times, but says each show is unique.
"Every year is a different performance for me, and it presents some unique situations, so it’s fun to get to come back,” Porter said.
He describes his music as a mixture of folk, jazz and rock 'n' roll, but also added that much of the show is improvised.
Porter has very loyal fans. Jamie Jorgensen drove all the way from Iowa City to see the show.
Jorgensen said he loves Porter's "great song writing, unbelievable musician-ship. Very sincere and very funny.”
Matt and Deb Peplinski haven't seen Porter perform before. "Our boys like to listen to him and that’s why I wanted to come see it. It’s awesome so far,” Deb Peplinski said.
